The Bicentennial Museum offers the public a permanent exhibition that traces Argentine history from the early 19th century to the present day.
It occupies the site of the former Buenos Aires Fort in the early 18th century and the Taylor Customs House, preserving the brick walls of the original 1855 construction. The exhibition includes a journey through 200 years of Argentine history, from the May Revolution of 1810 to the present, as well as an art area showcasing landmarks of Argentine heritage, the centerpiece of which is the mural "Ejercicio Plástico" (Plastic Exercise) by Mexican artist David Alfaro Siqueiros.
It boasts a diverse collection of approximately 12,000 pieces, including documents, textiles, furniture, national and international works of art, medals, and decorative arts. It also houses objects that belonged to Argentine Presidents, relating to both their official duties and their private lives.
